Shipping Policy – Messy Roots


Thank you for shopping with Messy Roots! We take great care in packaging every plant to ensure it arrives safely and healthy.


Processing Time


Orders are typically processed within 2–5 business days. During sales, holidays, or periods of high order volume, processing times may be slightly longer.


Shipping Days


To help prevent plants from sitting in transit over the weekend, live plants are generally shipped Monday through Wednesday. Non-plant items may ship throughout the week.


Shipping Rates


Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location, package size, and shipping method selected.


Live Plant Shipping


Plants are carefully packaged using materials designed to protect them during transit. Some minor cosmetic damage, soil displacement, or leaf loss may occur during shipping and is considered normal.


Please note:


Plants may appear stressed after shipping.


Allow your plant 1–2 weeks to acclimate to its new environment.


Variations in size, shape, and color are natural and expected.



Weather Conditions


We monitor weather conditions when possible, but Messy Roots is not responsible for damage caused by extreme heat, cold, delays by shipping carriers, or packages left unattended after delivery.


Tracking Information


Once your order ships, you will receive a tracking number via email. Please allow up to 24 hours for tracking information to update.


Incorrect Addresses


Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information. Orders returned due to an incorrect or incomplete address may require additional shipping fees before being reshipped.


Lost or Delayed Packages


Once a package is in the possession of the carrier, delivery times are outside of our control. If your package is significantly delayed or appears lost, please contact the shipping carrier first, then reach out to us for assistance.


Damaged Orders


If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with:

Clear photos of the packaging


Clear photos of the damaged item(s)



We will review each case individually and work toward a fair resolution.


Local Pickup


If local pickup is available, customers will receive an email when their order is ready. Orders must be picked up within the timeframe provided in the pickup instructions.
